Kaju Paneer π
Serves 6 people
Ingredients
- Paneer - 200 g (cubed)
- Onion - 2 (large - diced)
- Tomato puree - 3 (large)
- Cashew paste - 4 to 5 tbsp
- Fresh cream - 4 to 5 tbsp
- Bay leaf - 1
- Cumin - 1/2 tsp
- Green Chilli - 2 (optional)
- Butter - 2 tbsp
- Sugar - 1/2 tsp
- Ginger paste - 1/2 inch
- Red chilli powder - 1 & 1/4 tsp
- Tumeric - 1/4 tsp
- Corriander powder - 1 tsp
- Cumin Powder - 1/2 tsp
- Garam Masala - 1/4 tsp
- Fresh coriander - few strands (chopped finely)
- Kasuri Methi - 1 tsp
- Salt - as per taste
Method
- First of all, in a pan add a tablespoon of butter and fry the paneer till it gets softened and has a colour like thisππ.keep it aside
it gets chewy if it's fried for too longπ€π¬π

- In the same pan add another tbsp of butter, bay leaf and cumin.
- Also, add the green chillies and ginger paste and saute for a while
- Furthermore, add chopped onions and saute till it gets translucent.
- Season it with red chilli powder, turmeric, cumin powder,garam masala, coriander powder and salt and mix it well
- Add the sugar and mix well
- Now add the paneer and garnish with the chopped coriander and Kasuri methi and mix well
- Serve hot with roti or naanπ
As you guys may have noticed this recipe doesn't call for garlic, cloves or cardamom. It tastes great without these ingredients too
