Blue Tea (Butterfly pea flower tea)

 Serves 4 people

Ingredients

  1. Butterfly pea flower - 6 (fresh)
  2. Sugar - to taste
  3. Water - 3 cups
  4. Honey - 1 tsp per person
  5. Lime - 2 to 3 drops per person

Method

  • Keep the water on the stovetop and when it starts to boil add the flowers

  • After a few min, the water will turn blue. Then let it boil for about a min or two  and strain it off

  • Add a little bit of sugar and mix well
  • Blue tea is ready. You may drink it hot or cold

  • If you add a drop or two of lime juice, it becomes a beautiful purple colour๐Ÿคฉ

  • A healthy alternative choice would be to skip the sugar and add honey instead. It also becomes red in colour
