Palak Soup 🍡🍡


 

Ingredients


  1. Palak - 1 & 1/2 Cups (chopped roughly)
  2. Milk - 2 Cups
  3. Onion - 1 medium-sized (chopped)
  4. Garlic - 10 Cloves (chopped)
  5. Butter - 2 tbsp
  6. Maida - 2 tbsp
  7. Pepper - 2 tsp
  8. Salt - To taste
  9. Water - As needed
Method

  • Add 2 tbsp of butter and chopped onions in a pan and fry until it is translucent, then add the chopped garlic and saute until the garlic becomes aromatic.      

  • Add the palak and fry it for a few minutes.                                        

  • Next, add the maida to the pan and saute until the raw smell of maida goes away.
  • Furthermore, add 1/2 cup of milk and let it boil for a few seconds, then switch off the flame and let it cool down for a few minutes.                                   

  • Puree the mixture and transfer it back into the pan.                                     

  • Add 2 tsp of black pepper powder and salt, then add the remaining milk and water (as required) to get the desired consistency.
  • Bring it to a boil.                               

  • Serve hot with grated cheese or a block of butter.

  1. I used to make this ...Instead of palak leaves .,I use marathakali leaves {a type of spinach which grows widely in our part of the world kerala.

    1. we also have done with marathakali leaves but it is not available easily . In this recipe also u can use marathakali leaves instead of palak the only difference will be that we have to increase the amount of leaves because marathakali is a thinner leaf so we have to change the amount from 1 and 1/2 cups to 2 cups . The english name of marathakali is American NightShade. Hope it was clear
