Deepavali Special Mysore Pak
Ingredients
- Gram Flour (besan) - 1 Cup
- Ghee - 1 Cup + 1 tbsp
- Sugar - 1 Cup
- Water - 1/2 Cup
Method
- Firstly add the gram flour and 1 tbsp of ghee to a pan and fry until the raw smell goes, set aside
- In the same pan and the sugar and water and bring it to a boil, the sugar syrup should be thick
- Sprinkle all the roasted gram flour into the syrup slowly (medium flame) and keep on stirring. Make sure there are no lumps
- The ghee should be added in small quantities at regular intervals. This will take 10 to 15 mins
- Cut squares into it before it cools down ( it will be very hard to cut into it when it cools down)
- Let it cool completely, then separate the squares
