Methi Malai Paneer

Serves 5-6 people



Ingredients

  1. Fresh Methi Leaves - 1 bunch (chopped finely and soaked in salt water for 10 min)
  2. Paneer - a few cubes
  3. Cream - 1/4 cup 
  4. Milk - 1 cup
  5. Onion - 1 (chopped finely)
  6. Tomato - 2 (pureรฉd)
  7. Green Chilli - 4 to 5 (chopped)
  8. Ginger Paste - 1/2 tbsp
  9. Jeera - 1 tsp
  10. Bay leaf - 1
  11. Cardamom - 2
  12. Cloves - 3 
  13. Chilli powder - 1 & 1/2 tsp
  14. Corriander powder- 1 & 1/2 tsp 
  15. Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  16. Garam Masala - 1/4 tsp
  17. Butter - 2 tbsp
  18. Sugar - 1/2 tsp
  19. Salt - to taste

Method



  • In a pan add a little bit of butter and the chopped methi (  after soaking it in salt water for 10 min  ) and sautรฉ until cooked
           
It will shrink like this when it cooks

  • Keep it aside for later use
  • In the same pan add 1 tbsp of butter and add the jeera. When it splutters add the bay leaf, cardomom and cloves.
  • Furthermore add the chopped onions and a little bit butter and sautรฉ till translucent
  • Now add the green chillies and ginger paste and sautรฉ for a few min.    
    
  

                            

  • Stir in the said amount of chilli powder, turmeric powder, corriander powder, salt and and some more butter and mix well                                                                                                                                                                         

                      
  • Add the tomato pureรฉ and sugar, mix well for a few min                                                                                       

     
  • Add the chopped methi and sautรฉ till the raw smell of tomato pureรฉ is gone and the oil separates                                    

  • Now add the milk and cream and mix well. adjust the spices and salt as required            

  • Also add the cubed paneer and mix gently without breaking the paneer cubes. Sprinkle the garam masala 
  • Adjust the consistency with water as required
  • Now cover and let it simmer for about a min or two
THE TASTY METHI MALAI PANEER IS READY!!!!!
SERVE WITH ROTI OR NAAN!!
